My Story

I was born with the ability to feel sound in my body and understand its language. It's my natural element, and it led me to the cello at the age of 6. To me, the cello was the voice of the soul - it talked my language! - and I was (and still am) smitten.

Through the physicality of learning a string instrument I got to know my body just as a dancer or an athlete would - I learnt to balance and calibrate my muscles, and my kinaesthetic sense developed. Soon I could feel how it felt to move like someone else and gained quite the rep at school for physical impersonations. I discovered a more productive use for this ability when I began to teach the cello around the age of 16, feeling into people's bodies in order to guide them to better understanding. Over time this also developed into the ability to sense thoughts and emotions.

I discovered I was a natural healer around the age of 21 - I'd been healing for about a year on a very informal basis but was experiencing some transference, taking on aches & pains from those I was helping. That's when a friend introduced me to Reiki, a limitless source of Universal energy. This energy tops me up as I help others, so it's a win-win situation. Through receiving countless Reiki sessions I managed to transform some pretty heavy childhood trauma, freed up lots of creative energy and gained more spiritual understanding. I became a Reiki Master around the age of 26 and am still learning! I also gained my ITEC in Anatomy, Physiology and Massage around this point and worked for a few years in a couple of clinics in London whilst freelancing as a cellist.

In 2010 I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and had the opportunity to put all I'd learned into practice. I supported myself through chemo with Reiki and nutrition and used the time to embrace my creativity as never before. I came out of the experience wiser, more resilient and with a much deeper sense of connection to humanity.

During my convalescence I embraced Kundalini Yoga and fell in love all over again.... it answered a call I'd been hearing since my early teens. The combination of yoga, diet and wearing white clothes & turban (for protection of the subtle body, and to help the flow of Kundalini) helped to restore me physically and nurtured my spirit through the demands of raising two small children. It also gave me a community of like-minded souls, which was invaluable at that point of my journey. I took the teacher training in 2017. My yogic name is Sat Parvan Kaur, which means Devotee of the Truth in Gurmukhi.

Meanwhile, my relationship to sound took another turn when I played a gong after a yoga workshop. I had a strange feeling I'd done it before... it drew me in, took me over. I knew I had to work with this and did my Gongmaster training with Don Conreaux (affectionately known as Don Gong!) in 2016. I've been giving sound baths ever since.

Something was still niggling at me, however - calling to me from afar, periodically prodding my awareness...

I'd been pondering the effects of sound on chakras for some time and knew there was something I was meant to explore - something more specific than sound baths - when I happened across Eileen McKusick at an online sound healing summit in March 2022. She described how she had mapped the Biofield (the body's magnetic field, very similar to the Earth's), discovering over time where certain traumas and mental constructs liked to hang out. I looked it up straight away and booked a series of sessions via Zoom, all the way from America. It was a revelation! Talk about energetic surgery.... Very powerful and effective, getting to the roots of issues it had taken me years to understand, eradicating them as the distorted energy was brought back into coherence and re-assimilated into my body, leaving me lighter, clearer and more energised than ever before. I bought myself a Sonic Slider (one of the tuning forks we use on the body) and noticed dramatic results with certain physical ailments. I enrolled on the Foundations training programme in July 2022, took the Practitioner training in August 2022 and since then have helped many people with this wonderful technology. I currently offer a couple of clinics per week from my home in North Dalton.

My Approach

We are all magnificently powerful and radiant beings, each with our own unique set of gifts and abilities. Many things in life restrict that natural radiance, and I love working with people to uncover what's rightfully theirs, already whole and perfect.

Everything vibrates. Sound is the true nature of everything we can perceive. It's pure energy - the matrix of all life, capable of re-organising molecules, shaping cells & organisms, changing our state of being. The quality of sound (energy) we absorb and emit defines our reality. As we create more coherent vibration in our bodies and magnetic fields, we become more present and radiant.

I believe that our natural state is one of flow and connection, and that we were born to celebrate and share our gifts with others. We are much, much more than the sum of our parts, and our world needs us all to be our best Selves.

Anything which supports this process is a good thing, and for me those things are music, sound, community, creativity, good food and nature.

My approach to healing incorporates all that I have learned and includes, in addition to bodywork and sound healing, thoughts on nutrition, lifestyle and healthy energetic practices. I sometimes include breath work (Pranayama) in healing sessions and will suggest Kundalini meditations/exercises if I feel it's appropriate.
